IT'S A COOZIE-FILLED WORLD, WE JUST LIVE IN IT.

We've been keeping beer cold in coozies since the 90's, man. Seriously, however, what an interesting thing to search around the internet for. Seems like there are fifteen hundred different variations on the traditional foam rubber can-holster we generally run with. There's the bottle coozie, bottle coozie with zipper, bottle coozie shaped like a Philadelphia 76ers jersey, there's this, there's that, there's the other thing.

We've kept it utterly basic here at the Statriot mountain bunker. There's no extra frills, no zippers, no dashboard-adhering suction cup. Just a cylinder with a closed end, into which you can pop your 12-16 oz. canned drink. We'll stop the rambling and show you our newest-latest coozie: it's the Closer design and we like it just fine. It joins the ranks of the Ram and and the Pronghorn as the Treasure State's most worn-in coozie.

Now, if you're unfamiliar with the work of Portland, Oregon's Red Fang, we recommend that you start with this homage to LARPing called Prehistoric Dog.

KIDS, SHIRTS. KID-SHIRTS ARE NOW!

Just take a look at this rogue. When he's not reading books, eating cookies or singing songs, the guy's making stuff from blocks and being stoked! This is one of the unofficial mascots of Missoula's excellent, ethical Kid Shop, Blackbird on S. Higgins. Stop in and peruse their gear. Meanwhile, over at statriot.com, we've just busted loose a handful of these sharp kid-sized designs.

PRODUCTOS NUEVOS, SALE GRANDE, Y YOUTUBE RECOMENDACIONES.

That's correcto, amigos. The folks at the Statriot bunker, in addition to doing one-handed pushups, eating generic Cheetos and listening to lots of Egyptian, Cajun and country music have been plenty busy the past handful of weeks. We've got new designs on-offer, have built some pretty low-cost holiday deals ($40 gets you a hoodie, coozie and pair of stickers), and are going to be at the Fair at the Emerson in Bozeman on Saturday December 11th and at the MADE Fair in Missoula on Sunday, December 12th. Stop by and say hello!

Let's take a look at some of our newer things here: First up, in the photo below we've got our new embroidered Montana Coat of Arms zipper hoodie! These are all the rage from Drummond to Desmet and from Kremlin to Colstrip. We've got a real hot special offer over at the Statriot Store.
And here's a closeup of the fine sew-job on this patch:

That's enough for a quick update, we think. That accept I think I said I'd make some youtube recommendations. We're suckers for music videos here. Heck, if we had cable we'd weight 471 lbs and the TV'd be on VH1-classic 25 hours a day.. but seriously, there's a treasure trove of great live appearances on the German Beat Club TV show out there. Here's some video of Black Sabbath playing Blue Suede Shoes. Let it play and you get all sorts of wild Sabbath footage. What shredders! Hard to touch these dudes.

HEY, SHIRTS!

WE KNOW, WE KNOW. The new art on the header is way awesome. What can we say. We paid a guy a lot of money, and you know, you pay for what you get. So, yeah. That's what we got. So, yeah, awesome.

In terms of this other stuff...What has Santa brought early? Why, it's shirts, man. Shirts with some new designs on them. Here they are.

Seriously though, we've got a handful of new gear in the works, just in time to give your ma, pa, sweetie, bro, sis, frien', etc. something nice. These already being sold at great shops like Betty's Divine (Missoula), Blackbird Kid Shop (Missouala), Frayed Sew (Helena), Four O-Six (Helena) and at good ol' Statriot.com.

What do we have there? Wellsirs 'n ma'ams, it's the Montana Coat of Arms, that's all. In keeping with our Missoula, Bozeman, Salt Lake and Portland Coats, this Montana COA tips cap to the great Euro styled dancing fish, weird deer and castle turrets. We picked wheat, a rocky front, some bolts and an eagle to rep our states wide open places, mystic faces and errr, yeah. Hoodies coming!

Next up, MT Closer. We thought that Joy Division had this album called "Closer" and that album's cover had this cool three-D sort of EKG reading deal that sort of looks like an undersea mountain range or something. Turns out, that album's called "Unknown Pleasures" and our design really has not much to do with it anyway. We like it just the same. Expect koozies!

Big, big thank yous to Andrea and Tom, our models. Both Andrea and Tom do creative, awesome stuff in Missoula. Andrea works under the name Salty and Sweet, and makes mobiles (avail. at House downtown, via her etsy site, and at the MADE Fair) and Tom is Shahs, a one-dude tropicalia cum Suicide blast.

BIGHORN!

It's high, it's wide, and certainly, it's handsome. It's the ovis canadensis. The bighorn sheep. This majestic ungulate is just as happy roaming the rocky crags and peaks of the Rocky Mountains as it is chewing grass.

Meanwhile, Statriot is releasing it's new HWH: Bighorn shirt tonight, June 4th 2010 at Betty's Divine (on S. Higgins) in Missoula. Stop by and say hello, we'll get the Bubble Up.

Additionally: Hey, we've got a snazzy new store happening over here, go ahead and check out the incredible you-can-pick-your-size on the front end functionality! Whoop!

COMMUNITY ORIENTED CLOTHIER: fourOSix in Helena!
Or should we say "orientated"...The photo on the left comes from FourOSix's Great Divide ski and snowboard February 2010 event! Nice air, bro! And good work, Papu and your crew.
Statriot's on the hunt for some new animal designs, and plans to bust out a couple new'ns re-al soon. Look for new stuff in our dapper High Wide and Handsome line, as well as some sort of design which honors those of you who like to essentially inflate waterbeds and steer them down the harriest whitewater in the land! It'll be some kind of tip of cap to you in the rafting/boating community, if that description lacked clarity. Yeah, a lot in the works. We're also cooking up a brand new website, with lots more photos, sizing options and a real tight look.

Keep it tuned to Statriot, mates and sheilas, and meanwhile listen to the new Eddy Current Suppression Ring record. They're from Melbourne, Australia. The record's called Rush to Relax, is out domestically on Goner. And is halfway between the Minutemen and AC/DC in sound bitchingness!

Your State Seal, Sirs and Madams. (and) Hooded Hooder seen Hooding around like a Hoodlum in Hoodie.

First up, have a look at the new goods, here, friend. Two items of note. Noteworthiness abounds in these parts.

Ahem! The new State Seal design, as we call it, features a minor revision to the mineral-scraping motto of our state: Oso Y Patos, or "bear and ducks" en ingles. No hidden
meaning we don't think, just some fun for the sake of it. Available in all sizes with our friends at Betty's Divine and Edge of the World in Missoula, Four-O-Six and Frayed Sew in the Queen City, and at Cactus in Bozeman.

Nextly, our path has taken us into the "full coverage" territory. Yeheap. Hoodies! A few of 'em at least. Most of have been snatched up at the couple of rad fairs (UC Art and Missoula MADE Fair) we did at the end of ought-nine, but we've got a couple still haning around, and if you'd like one in a size we currently haven't got, we can likely get it for you.

Look at this rogue wearing this thing. More like a 9:30 shadow. Jeesh. Anyhow, the Andy Smetanka-designed Montanka is a beauty of a shirt, and we're proud as punch to have partnered with the man, and look to do some more of that here in 2010.

Finally, and not to get all sentimental, but while it was a lot of work, 2009 was also a lot of fun. We met a lot of great folks, sold some shirts, and dug talking to you guys. We appreciate the business that folks have given us, and look forward to doing more of it in 2010. As for what the year holds, we need to get our heads together and set some goals. At minimum, it'd sure be nice to offer you folks in the Flathead Valley, Great Falls Area, and east of center some Statriot wares. Additionally, Idaho and Washington are too close not to have been calling our name, so keep your eyes peeled, and if you're in the retail business, and like what you see, by all means drop us a line. This Statriovka (Czech style liqueur) is what we gave/are giving the folks who did business with us in 2009. Who knows what 2010 will bring?! Homemade fireworks? Throwing knives? Well we just don't know.
